Core Values
FLC Constructions core values have been shaped over decades of delivering the finest construction services to our clients. They stand the test of time and remain our central commitment throughout changing economic and industry conditions.
Quality
Quality is central to everything we do and in few industries is it more important. Attention to, and responsibility for quality is part of the job description of every one of FLC Constructions employees. It is both a mindset, and a continuous process executed on every project and actively managed by superintendents and project managers.
Value
Value is reflected in our commitment to deliver the very best product through efficient processes and appropriate utilization of client resources. Skilled estimating and diligent project management, along with extraordinary execution, allow us to deliver projects on schedule and within budget time and time again, making us a trusted partner in even the most complex and unpredictable construction scenarios.
Integrity
Integrity is fundamental to the strength of our reputation and the quality of the relationships we have with many longstanding clients. We believe in a “no surprises” approach that relies on detailed preparation, open and clear communication, and a simple commitment to do what we promise.
Challenge
Challenge is something that we embrace as part of our approach to every project. We foster innovation and creativity, alongside experience and skillful execution, as part of our culture. Because of this, over a long history, many clients have selected us for projects in which complex challenges must be overcome to produce successful outcomes.
Company History
FLC Constructions founded a construction company in 1975. They named it FLC Constructions and opened first offices Zionsville, IN
Their first job began a long history of tackling complex projects with the conversion of an old wooden barge into a duck-hunting lodge. These rough beginnings formed the foundation for what would become the FLC Constructions Construction Company that exists today.
Early work consisted of Floyd Christopher home construction, including some of the finest residences in Marin County and the first home on the Belvedere Lagoon development.
FLC Constructions was selective about the commercial and industrial projects that the company took on and was unwavering in his commitment to exceptional quality and performance. His leadership generated solid references and word of mouth referrals that continued to grow the business. FLC Constructions became known for skillful delivery on complicated and sensitive conversions of historic industrial and warehouse buildings into high-end office and residential space.
FLC Constructions places a high value on the safety and well being of our employees, our subcontractors and the public. Our philosophy shapes a unique safety culture that impacts how we manage it throughout the company. We believe that safety begins with planning in preconstruction and every project teams completes a project specific Hazard Analysis during this phase with the goal of proactively identifying and mitigating risks before they materialize.
Our safety program is managed by a full-time, Board-Certified Safety Professional (CSP), who reports directly to senior management and oversees safety training, jobsite inspections, and other key components of our corporate safety program. On our jobsites, the project managers and superintendents are responsible for safety compliance and successful implementation of our safety policies which include: 100% fall protection for work performed above 6 feet, standard personal protective equipment including 100% eye protection, and weekly jobsite safety meetings. Senior management at FLC Constructions regularly reviews safety performance data from each project. FLC Constructions has a safety incentive/bonus program for employees and supervisors who adhere to guidelines and prevent accidents from occurring. The success of the program can be measured by its results, which include total incident rates below industry averages over the past 5 years and, more importantly, FLC Constructions employees returning home safely to their families at the end of each day.
Our corporate safety policies and programs, including information on safety training are spelled out in detail in our IIPP, which is available upon request.

Testimonials
San Francisco Ferry Building
“We’d been privileged to do several registered buildings in San Francisco and from experience knew that to do it right requires great skill—you have to approach these buildings with deference. So, in 1998 when we won the opportunity to renovate the Ferry Building, we wanted the best of the best. We’d worked with FLC Constructions on the landmark Flood Building and they did an exquisite job. We felt they were the only firm for the job and its success bears out that trust.”

“From a construction standpoint, it’s an audacious structure and quite challenging. Coordination between building assemblies was critical, as they had to fit a very shallow plenum. FLC Constructions did a good job of coordinating the building systems and scheduling and coordinating the work of sub-contractors in an orderly manner. The FLC Constructions organization was also able to efficiently channel information between the architect and the construction team—very important to the proper execution of the design.”

Market Common Clarendon
“Much of the success of the project is owed to the actual physical aspects—how well it was executed and completed which determined the quality of the aesthetics and its financial success. And that is due in great part to FLC Constructions. The leadership that FLC Constructions Construction showed during all phases of the project was a marvel to us. They stood behind their pricing all the way through project management. It was completed when we needed it. You can’t ask for anything more from a construction partner.
