He succeeded John Wilson as the firm’s president and chief executive officer in March 2015. Chris brings more than two decades of experience in the New York construction industry. During his career, he has worked closely with a broad range of clients, including Moody’s, Bloomberg, and Citigroup. His experience includes sales, project management, contract negotiation, and lease consulting and management.

 

Chris obtained his bachelor’s degree in Architecture and an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology. He most recently worked for Tishman Construction in New York as senior vice president, responsible for development and management of corporate interiors. Prior to joining Tishman in 2011, Chris was a senior managing director at Newmark Knight Frank in New York. He spent seven years at Structure Tone as a vice president and project executive, and also worked as a project manager and superintendent at Turner Construction.

 

Chris was selected through a careful search process, and we look forward to him leading Plant Construction in our tradition of excellence as well as into new areas of growth.

She joined Plant after relocating to the Bay Area from Portland, Oregon, where she was a project manager in charge of construction of Nike’s NikeTown stores. During her time with the company, Paula has led construction teams in the delivery of large, complex renovation projects in San Francisco and Minneapolis, Minnesota. She brings deep technical and engineering skills to her projects in addition to strong leadership skills and an understanding of the client’s point-of-view and needs. Paula is a licensed civil engineer in the state of California and a LEED Accredited Professional.

He joined Plant as an assistant project manager with 15 years of field experience under his belt and quickly progressed to project manager and then construction manager in 2005. He was ultimately named vice president in 2012. In his 20 years with Plant, Conrado has developed critical experience in complex renovations as manager of the $60 million, multi-phase restoration of San Francisco’s Fairmont Hotel. He has traveled frequently to manage Plant’s retail work in other states for clients such as Nordstrom and Prada. Favoring projects with challenging, problem-solving aspects, Conrado delivers excellence through complexity and has contributed to the success of innovative work including the LEED Platinum certified Lands End Lookout and the renovation and seismic stabilization of the historic landmark temple for Congregation Sherith Israel. Conrado plays a key role in the adoption of emerging construction technologies and the training of project managers resulting in enhanced, company-wide productivity and managerial depth. He serves on the Construction Coordination and Seismic Committees for Rebuilding Together San Francisco.

He hired and managed the delivery of construction services for clients in the San Francisco Bay Area and was an active member of both the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Urban Land Institute (ULI), achieving the designation of CCIM. During his career at Plant, Jeff has worked as an estimator, project manager and construction executive on projects spanning renovations, interiors and new construction. As operations manager, he is responsible for hiring estimators, project managers, and field supervisors. Jeff also oversees the project management, safety and estimating departments and researches and implements new operations technologies and systems for the entire company.

He is responsible for ensuring that systems, controls, policies, and procedures are in place to minimize downtime for a wide variety of Plant’s operations. He also ensures that workflows remain streamlined for Plant’s financial and risk management functions. Dennis is responsible for employee benefits and compensation, and the reliability of the company’s IT infrastructure. The scope of his work encompasses Plant’s annual budgeting and monthly financial reporting. He maintains a close working relationship with the company’s business partners, including outside auditors, banks, legal, surety and insurance companies. In addition to his core responsibilities, Dennis helps the company monitor a host of factors in the business environment and adapt to changing circumstances. He has been successful at implementing the company’s strategic vision across a moving landscape of internal and external conditions. In addition to his responsibilities at Plant, Dennis is a past president and current member of the board of the San Francisco chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association.

David G. He has over fifty years of experience in construction beginning with fieldwork as a carpenter, carpenter foreman, and superintendent. David later advanced to project and production manager and ultimately, succeeded Tom Plant in 1979 as president and general manager of Plant Construction’s predecessor company Plant Builders, Inc. Almost twenty years later, he spearheaded the creation of Plant’s limited partnership in order to ensure the success of the company for years to come. Over the years, David has developed a reputation for client service working with private schools and other non-profits throughout San Francisco. His notable projects include Lick-Wilmerding High School, Katherine Delmar Burke School, Marin Academy, Cathedral School for Boys, Children’s Day School, Pacific Primary, Hamlin School, Bentley School, California Society of Pioneers, and more.

He is expert in seismic upgrades of historic structures, extensive renovation of hotels, and high-design retail work. Some notable renovation projects include the Walt Disney Family Museum, The Presidio Institute at Fort Scott, the adaptive reuse of Buildings 101 + 103 in the Presidio, and the ACT Strand Theater. Also amongst his successes are the Prada Beverly Hills, Bulgari San Francisco & Rodeo Drive, Four Seasons San Francisco, Palace Hotel, and numerous endeavors with Apple since 2013.

 

Prior to Plant, Jeff worked at a variety of architectural firms on the east and west coasts, and served in the Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa, as a team leader helping to build sustainable housing.

 

He has been an architectural studio critic at UC Berkeley, SCI-Arc & CCA, and a jury member for the AIA San Francisco Design Awards, the San Francisco Business Times Real Estate Deals of the Year Awards, and the Structural Engineering Association of Northern California (SEAONC) Excellence in Structural Engineering Awards. Jeff also sits on the City of Hope Real Estate Council and the UC Berkeley Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Environmental Design.  Previously, he served on the Board of Directors for AIA San Francisco, San Francisco Heritage – the leading historic preservation organization in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the Olympic Club Building Committee.

 

He is a registered architect in the state of California and a LEED Accredited Professional.

Notable Plant Construction Company projects completed under his leadership include the Ferry Building, the Flood Building and the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco. He also managed the renovation of the Reliance Building in Chicago, and led construction of the Market Common urban lifestyle centers in Arlington, Virginia and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Craig was named Vice President of Plant Construction in 1985 and has been a Principal of the Company since 1990. He has served, with David Plant, as General Partner of Plant Construction Company, L.P. since its founding in 1998. In addition to his construction industry involvement, Craig has served on Urban Land Institute and International Conference of Shopping Centers (ICSC) panels, was a former director of San Francisco Architectural Heritage, is a member of the Lambda Alpha honorary real estate society, and is on the board of Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco.
